接受了正统的十二年中国基础教育，十二年寒窗乏善可陈。初中两次参加中学生物奥林匹克竞赛，分别取得省区一等奖和特等奖。高中三年，平心而论只拼了半年，用减肥八千克换了一张总分623的高考成绩单。怀着对生物学的一腔热情，力排众议报考了**大学生命科学学院，并被录取。
进入大学，发现理想中之自由开放的象牙塔仍遥不可及，但对我来说已经是如鳅得泥。虽然与中学相比，课程的负担不止增加了倍余，但我更喜欢这种忙碌。基础课的教学，应该不能算得上理想，我想这是国内多数大学的通病。不过，课程本身的吸引力，远远大于我对教学方式的不满。虽然没有在拿到全部的优秀，但也算是顺利通过。英语轻松拿下四级六级，也似小马过河，不是一件异常恐怖的事情。 在顺利完成学习任务之余，课外阅读成了我的最大爱好，三年间省下了别人喝咖啡的钱全部买了书。xx北京，xx上海，每次都把钱包里的钱换成了更加充实的书包里的书。至今，床头的三层书架全部塞满了各种生物学读物，被同学戏称为山大图书馆生物学分馆。为了及时了解科技界特别是生物学界的动态，各种杂志成了我最大的涉猎品，《SCIENCE》《NATURE》千金难求，《SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN》的中文版三年来一期不缺。
在学校，最大的乐土莫过于实验室，即使基础实验成了理工科学生最为诟病的孱头。虽然无法完全掌控实验，但我力争求变，看到自己的思想被证实或被否定，实在是一件乐事。儿时与土地的亲近和十几年住院(live in THE hospital)生活让我对实验操作本身颇有体会。特别是动物实验，被同学叫去在扎满耳孔的兔子耳朵上寻找立针之地的往往是我。三年来，十几门实验课，门门都是优秀，每每成为实验同伴偷懒的理由，这也是大学时光里的一个美好的回忆。
闲暇之余，背上帐篷和睡袋，深入济南南部的山山水水中，虽然没有云南风光旖旎，还是能寻找到一份城市中失落已久的难得清静。带上地质锤和放大镜，张夏、山旺，都是好去处。和奥陶纪、寒武纪、第四纪的生灵们打个招呼。虽然还上升不到分子的水平，也算是对进化的小小研究了。
说到进化，xx年的春天，非典疑云笼罩京城之际，我和几个朋友受邀到中央电视台科教频道与南京大学、天津大学的朋友一起参加关于恐龙灭绝的话题的讨论。我们提出的复原恐龙生殖生态模型的观点得到了着名古生物学家董枝明和甄朔南的一致肯定。从北京赶回济南后五天，非典隔离开始。同样因为非典，中央台的节目录制陷入停顿，我们的节目有幸被重播四次之多，希望我们的观点能够得到更多人的认可。
不过，比之讨论恐龙灭绝，我更喜欢探讨生命的诞生。在这里，进化不仅仅是一个生物学课题，更是一个哲学命题。我对进化生物学及进化基因组学的认识将在下面的一篇小文中展开，在此就不加赘述了。

实习学生享受的是同美国同事同工同酬的待遇，并享有其他福利（政府要求的基本医疗和意外保险等）按照联邦政府的最低工资规定：2009年7月24日之前，大约是每小时6.55美金，之后则提高至7.25美金。另外，对于接收小费类工作，每小时至少有2~3美金小费。学生每天的工作时间是7~8小时，每周工作5~6天，这样计算每周总计35~40小时，每周收入至少为250~300美金。住宿费用根据所处区域的不同大约20~100每周，饮食按个人的喜好，大约每周花费25～100美金。所以，按照过往其他国家参与学生的经验，每周至少有50美金的盈余可用于旅行等其它个人开支。
一般情况下，美国雇主每2周支付薪酬，学生收到第一份薪酬可能要在到达美国3~4周以后，取决于学生开始工作和获取Social Security Card(社会安全卡)的时间。所以，我们建议学生至少携带额外1000美金以支付一开始的住房等日常费用。实践时间根据中国高校的一般暑假时间，学生实习时间一般是10周，从6月中下旬开始至9月中旬。

Summer Work & Travel USA基于美国政府于1948年通过的信息及教育交流法案（Smith-Mundt Act），该法案为交流访问项目建立了基本框架。 此法案于1961年被纳入并扩展为教育及文化平等交流法案（Fulbright-Hayes Act）。项目在已经在欧洲、美洲及亚洲其他国家和地区成功运作了30余年，每年约有十五万来自世界各国的学生利用他们的暑假，持J-1签证进入美国企业进行为期3—4个月的短期社会实践，并利用实践之余的时间，在美境内旅游或实地体验美国生活、了解美国风土人情。

现在进行时由"be+v-ing"构成。be应为助动词，初学者最容易漏掉，它应与主语的人称和数保持一致。
【No. 2】现在进行时的应用
在实际运用时，现在进行时常用以下几种情况：
(1)当句子中有now时，常表示动作正在进行，这时要用现在进行时。如：
They are playing basketball now.现在他们正在打篮球。
(2)以look, listen开头的句子，提示我们动作正进行，这时要用现在进行时。如：
Listen！She is singing an English song.听，她正在唱英语歌。

特殊疑问句：疑问词+be(am, is, are)+主语+现在分词+其它？
对现在进行时的特殊疑问句的回答，它不可以用Yes或No直接作答，要根据实际情况回答。
动词现在分词的构成：
一般动词直接在末尾加ing,特殊情况如下：
1.以Y结尾的动词（不管Y前是辅音还是元音字母），直接加ing。
2.以E结尾的动词，把E去掉再加ing。
3.以R音节结尾的动词，双写末尾的R再加ing。
4.以IE结尾的`动词，将IE变Y再加ing。
5.以重读闭音节结尾，且末尾只有一个辅音字母的动词，双写末尾的辅音字母再加ing。

我叫xxx，今年27岁。19xx年7月我从xx师范学校艺师美术专业计划内自费毕业。由于从97年起国家不再对自费生包分配，使我与“太阳底下最光辉的职业”失之交臂。幸好，当时河西马厂完小师资不足，经人介绍，我在该完小担任了一年的临时代课老师。回想起那段时光真是既甜蜜又美好，虽然代课工资很低，但听着同学们围在身旁“老师”、“老师”的叫个不停，看着那一双双充满信任的眼睛，那一张张稚气的小脸，生活中的所有不快都顿时烟消云散了。我原想，即使不能转正，只要学校需要，就是当一辈子代课老师我也心甘情愿。不料，1998年起国家开始清退临时工和代课老师，接到了学校的口头通知后，我怀着恋恋不舍的心情，悄悄地离开了学校。

每个人在初次相见的时候，都会有一个简单的自我介绍，让对方去了解自己。不同的行业面试有不同的行业面试技巧，下面我们一起来看看海员面试时如何进行英文自我介绍。
船东初次见面：
见到船东是应向船东打招呼、礼貌(Polite)、简捷(Comcise)、热情(Enthusiastic)。
面试前留给船东的第一印象往往是刚刚与船东见面时留下的。经验告诉我们，很多船员尽管英文不错，可是往往不知道如何和船东恰当地打招呼，从而影响了自己的面试成绩。其实，最常见的打招呼办法就很有效。进考官面试房间后，切勿长时间东张西望，而要在外派公司的引导人员的示意下，坐到指定的座位上。然后，通常是由外派公司的人员互相介绍你和面试你的船东。在介绍完后，你要向考官主动打一下招呼，说一声“你好!”或“How do you do?”
及“I am John, very glad to meet you here”。这里要提醒您的是，你落座后，一定要看看对面坐着几位考官。在打招呼时，要和每个人打招呼，包括身体主动前倾，和每个人握握手，或有礼貌地和每个人点点头。千万不能忘了其中的一个或几个。在打完招呼后，要回到指定的座位，端庄坐下。坐下后，通常船东考官会首先向你提出问题，要你回答。
若对方没有立即向你提问题，你可以自己首先打破僵局，最好的方法是主动介绍一下自己，若外派公司已经把你介绍给考官了，你在自我介绍时要介绍那些别人介绍你时没有向考官提供的信息，比如你的职位、你的姓名、你来自中国的哪个省份或城市等等。但自我介绍时，要言简意赅，切忌长篇大论。
主动热情地和考官交流会使自己易于被考官接受和喜欢。一般认为，热情是做好一项工作的非常重要的前提条件之一。但是，热情要有个度，开放自己的精神空间也要有度。面试的背景要求考官和考生之间要有一定的距离。如果考生和考官过于亲密，容易让人产生动机不纯或交际态度不稳重的看法。想与考官见面熟的急于求成的做法是不妥当的。既要主动接近，又要保持一定的距离，这就是“热情”的全面含义。
面试时表现
1. 基本要求：友善(Friendly)、真诚(Sincere and Faithful)、不卑不亢、幽默(Humorous)、谨慎(Wariness)
面试就是你和船东沟通谈话的过程。手足无措、东张西望、精神过度紧张，以及坐资过于随便都是十分忌讳的。每次面试之前，不论我们外派公司怎样提醒，总有一些船员会表现得手足无措。很多海员，尤其是第一次接受面试的船员，面试时精神紧张是很普遍的现象。有时，应试船员手势过多，甚至说到激动时手指直指船东;有的唾液飞扬;有的不自然地翘起了二郎腿，好象他在面试考官一样。这些都会给船东留下很不好的印象。笔者的建议是，想要解除自己面试时的紧张感，最好要让自己有一定的面试经验。听说，很多船员为了让自己有面试经验，尽管没有船东面试的实战经验，却通过去其他非船员公司的其他职位面试来学面试经验。还有的船员在面试前反复联系握手、自我介绍，并让别人评判自己的表现，我认为这是克服面试紧张的非常好的办法。
2.面试中，考官说话时要仔细倾听、不抢话、不说多余的话
语言过多是面试成功的大敌。很多船员因为说话太多而没有成功。这样的事例不胜枚举。应该留给考官问更多的问题，而自己主要的任务是能够回答这些问题。记得某公司一国外客户前来面试船员。某一应试轮机长职位的应试者的英语和资历都特别好。该轮机长在前的准备也非常认真充分，甚至在面试前为了再过一遍材料而直到半夜才睡。第二天面试时，当考官提问了一个问题，他便回答了约10分钟;而第二个非常简单的问题，该轮机长居然联想到他很多经历，讲了足有半小时，且回答的内容远远超出了问题的.答案。最后，我们看见一个考官的眉头皱地越来越紧，而另外一个考官干脆睡着了，而我们这位轮机长根本就没有注意到，依然滔滔不绝，当然，这个轮机长面试是否成功就不言自明了。
其实，面试时，答非所问，滔滔不绝的船员很多。笔者事后了解到，很多船员之所以想多答一些，是想让船东 对自己有更深的印象，更是为了展示一下自己的“实力”。而这恰恰是考官不喜欢的。为什么呢，试想一下，如果干部船员面试说话那样婆婆妈妈，他工作时可能会更是如此，而这种管理人员下属、上司和同时是不喜欢的。这也许是大多数认得共识。总之，船东提问时要仔细倾听，即使你知道考官下一个问题或下一句话是什么，也一定要等到船东的问题结束时再回答，而不要抢话说，或问题答案远远超出适当的范围。
对于自己不知道的问题，要实事求是。其实，作为船员，即使你在学校学到的理论知识再杂扎实，船上实践知识再丰富，仍可能会在面试中遇到答不上来的问题。硬着头皮乱说一通，掩饰自己的无知，这是极不明智的;回避问题东拉西扯不相干的事情，也是下策。最明智的措施是坦白承认自己不懂。你可以说： “I am sorry,but I really have no idea about your question.If possible,could you give me hints to the answer to the question?”
待人家给了一些启示或暗示而你仍然不能回答时，就不要让人家提供更多的暗示或提示了，而应该大大方方地告诉人家： “I am sorry ,I can not get the answer to your question.”这就足够了，而万万不可以一言不发，任沉默继续下去，因为沉默的时间越长，应试者通常会更加紧张。
还有，并不是每个考官都是经验丰富的船长或轮机长，有时他们提的问题也许听起来有些外行。但是，即便如此，也要谦虚地回答这些问题，而不要说人家的问题有问题或对人家瞧不起的感觉或神情。
3. 回答问题要注意条理性
考官提出的问题可能会有各种各样类型。至于一般常识性问题，不需太多思考就可以回答了;而对于比较复杂的问题，首先一定要仔细倾听，把问题的内容理顺一下，这在英语面试中特别重要。而对于特别负责不是一两句能回答完整的问题，一定要让船东给你一点思考的时间。你可以说：“I am sorry. I haven’t got your idea. But if possible, I would like to think about it for a short moment and then I would give you my answer.”我们的经验说明，对于那些重要职位，船东考官往往要他们回答一些ISM和SMS程序管理(procedures)的问题，对这样的问题，不稍做思考，很难回答得尽善尽美。在回答负责问题时，答案的条理性非常重要，你可以用Firstly,secondly,thirdly …lastly之类的连词来组织你的语言和内容。

总之，自我介绍要切实可行，不会让人觉得夸夸其谈，还是要从三个方面来说：知己知彼，首先要了解自己;之后投其所好，吸引HR的目光;加上合理布局内容，不要以为面试官能跟得上你的跳跃性思维。
